Hi I’m Malia! The stylist and colorist behind Wildewood Hues. I’m a sports mom, an outdoors lover, and someone who truly understands what it means to balance a full, busy life while still wanting to feel confident and put together. I specialize in natural, low-maintenance blondes created for busy schedules, full calendars, and everyday moments

As a mom I understand the importance of a relaxed, but result producing appointment, no matter how long or short. My chair is a place to reset and feel taken care of. My hope is that you will leave the salon with effortless hair that will keep up with juggling kids, practice schedules, work, or all of it at once.

Book an appointment via this link and choose a time that works best for you! There is an intake form at end of booking to help me get to know your hair better, please fill it out as best you can.

Within 24 hours, you will receive either a confirmation or a few follow up questions to clarify what we will be doing.

  • Clean hair is always best! Freshly washed, dry hair allows me to accurately assess your color, natural level, and overall hair health. If your hair hasn’t been washed for a day or two, that’s okay too. Just avoid coming with excessive product buildup, dry shampoo, or heavy oils.

  • Appointment times vary depending on the service. Most color appointments range from 2–5 hours. When you book, you’ll receive an estimated appointment length so you can plan your day.

  • No worries, that’s what I’m here for! If you’re unsure which service is right for you, send me an email (wildewoodhues@gmail.com) with a current photo of your hair and a few inspiration photos. I’ll help guide you to the best service so you can book with confidence.

  • Pricing depends on your desired result, your current hair, and the amount of time and product needed to achieve your goals. All my services have a base price listed on my booking site and I’ll always discuss your plan and provide an estimate before we get started, so there are no surprises.

  • I believe getting your hair done should feel like hitting pause on a busy life. Whether we’re chatting about life, laughing together, sitting in comfortable silence, or simply giving you a few hours to recharge, my chair is a place where you can relax and be yourself. My goal is to create beautiful, low-maintenance hair that fits your lifestyle, not the other way around.

  • At this time, I work by appointment only. This allows me to give every guest my full attention and create a personalized experience from start to finish.

  • Just yourself! Feel free to bring a drink, a snack, your laptop if you’ll be working, or headphones if you’d rather relax. Inspiration photos are always helpful if you have a specific look in mind, and don’t forget a phone charger if you’ll be hanging out with me for a few hours.

  • Wildewood Hues is located within SYMMETRIE in historic downtown Lynden.

    There is free parking all over this walkable town, as well as great lunch spots and shopping in case you are early to your appointment.
